A radar that everyone has so they can see eachother.. Like somthing on the screen of the helmet or somthing. Maybe not permanent but they can like do somthing to activate it so it doesnt stay in the way when not needed..
Not sure it could ever be avoided completely, regardless of measures taken against it. It is humans we're talking about after all, and humans are very prone to error.
I don't think you can just stop war. It's part of human nature at this point. Or more so, conflict is a part of human nature. Maybe change what war is?
Create friendly fire missiles that will either go somewhere else or self destruct before they hit the friendly target. also, equip all your troops with devices that emit signals to the friendly fire misses to let them know they are friendly and they need to avoid the target.
I may have stolen this idea from a video game and it might be science fiction at this point, but a technology like this would greatly help this issue.
Also, stop making me do the spam verification thing, it's annoying.
I don't really think they can do more to stop friendly fire, it's not about investing in more equipment it's really just about training and better communication.
Damn that sucks, imagine if that was you doing the shooting... The problem with IDing friendlies is that enemies would probably just be able to ID themselves as friendlies.
There's not much you can do really, it's collateral.
ReplyDeleteConsequences of war really, but there could be ways to minimalize casualties, aka better training
Communicate more I think.
ReplyDeletePeople don't want to consider this, but I think we need to get rid of the death machine we call the military.
ReplyDeleteNot really...

ReplyDeleteNice to see this in another perspective. And war takes casualties indeed..
ReplyDeletesomeone should tell them to stop shooting. friendly fire would be totally resolved isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with prisoner art and netw. The best way to stop accidentally shooting "the wrong person" is to stop purposely shooting anyone.
ReplyDeleteJust stop war all together!
ReplyDeleteI think with technology we should be able to do something to stop friendly fire! at this time peace is the only answer. Followed
ReplyDeleteHow is this even possible in this day and age? With the level of communication we have now, you would think friendly fire would be almost nil.
ReplyDeleteyou would think but unfortunately not. agree with sarahberry74 wish that peace was possible or atleast the focus

ReplyDeleteInteresting blog, will follow.

ReplyDeleteID tracking to prevent targeting of friendlies

ReplyDeleteThis is a really interesting point of view. +follow
ReplyDeletePeople will always be stupid enough to make technology not work, so no, friendly fire won't ever be gone.
ReplyDeleteWith firearms and open combat being used- doubtingly.
ReplyDeleteNice Blog, Followed+

ReplyDeleteFriendly fire is an oxymoron, bullets don't discriminate
